One of the most popular of the Godding & Godding silk skin products we produce is the Marula range, especially with our foreign clientele. Mainly due to the Marula’s African connotation, but also because it offers the fruitiest, sweetest fragrance of all the products. The Marula essence which is added into the silk base product is an essential oil which actually comes from the leaves of the Marula tree by being cold pressed. The fragrance, however, comes from the fruit and the flowers, obtained in a similar fashion. It is also common practice for the peel to be squeezed in order to produce the esters which are in turn utilised not only in essential oils such as ours but also in many homeopathic medicines.

The delicious tasting summer fruit from the Marula tree are popular with animals, birds, insects and humans, boasting not only a sweet juicy flesh but one that is four times higher in vitamin C then an orange! We use this natural plant in our products because of its high antioxidant qualities as well as the oleic acid providing incredible skin hydration. The high levels of vitamin C as well as vitamin E  means  that Marula has incredible rejuvenating properties and helps to feed and restore the skin in a completely natural way.
